RSS is an acronym that stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is an incredibly fast and customizable web tool that empowers end users to aggregate web content of interest to them. Instead of hitting a dozen of your favorite daily websites, those sites that offer RSS allow you to set up feeds to receive the information you want to receive.
RSS is also used to describe a family of web feeds, like, travel, news, sports, Blog content or in our case, airfare. Some other commonly used Feed acronyms are, XML and Atom.
Each type of feed is alongside an icon like one of these:
If you’ve ever clicked on any of the above icons, you’ve been redirected to a page with a simple design and summary explaining that the page you’ve landed on is an RSS or XML feed page with an icon and a hyperlink, Subscribe to This Feed. If you look at the URL extension on this page, you’ll see that it reads RSS.XML. |
